Jonathan Kroll - Founding Executive Director
​​Jonathan is a leadership educator and entrepreneur.
​Jonathan began his career in higher education focusing on leadership development, community engagement, and reflection initiatives. He has co-founded two leadership training businesses and, during the last decade, has facilitated over 200 leadership workshops, retreats, and conference presentations. Jonathan has trained youth, university students, educators, professional athletes, mid-level managers, and executives of multi-national corporations, nonprofits, and local family-owned businesses. Jonathan consults, writes, and teaches about leadership and mentoring—as powerful developmental experiences.

​Jonathan has earned a PhD in Human and Organizational Systems with a focus in Leadership and Mentoring from Fielding Graduate University.

"Leadership is about caring for others...it is something that can be developed every day. We cannot pick when to be a leader...It's not 'today I am going to be a leader and tomorrow I am not going to be a leader'. Leadership is the way of dealing with the situations in daily life...how you control yourself, your mind, and your attitude; how you speak, listen, and interact." ​

"It is totally important because (with leadership training) you can be a factor of change in your community. Leadership training empowers us and pushes us. (Previously) I thought leadership was about being born with (leadership) skills. Now I know there are tools that can help us be effective." ​

"An inadequate leader can drive unwanted results and deter engagement of individuals involved - depriving others from opportunities to develop their leadership roles within their own community. Why is leadership training important?

"Leadership training is important because it provides a structured environment to bring out the inherent, intrinsic leadership qualities that each person posseses. And so often, as leaders, we are functioning out of deficit experience where we are saying, 'we aren't capable of being leaders' - having opportunities for leadership training gives that structured space to have the motivation to go forward into the environments that they work in." ​

"Education is key for the development of a country. When one participates in leadership education, one is better prepared to face challenges. (Traditional) school education provides us with the knowledge to be good citizens and good professionals - but leadership education opens our eyes so that we can influence others, question our systems and structures and, as part of that process, take actions to become an active and positive members of our community."
